Photography to me is all about capturing a moment in time with all of its emotion, context, and personality. The ability to look at a photograph and feel the experience of the moment is what I strive for.
Does that sound cheesy? Yes.
Do I still believe it? Definitely.
I love going to hear live music sets, and constantly pencil in shows on my calendar months in advance. The excitement of being at a show and feeling the emotion of the music takes you that much closer to understanding the band. Capturing this feeling in my camera is personally rewarding. This theory applies to many other genres of photography, and I hope that as you read this blog, you can understand how and why I try to apply that to my work. Photography is a constant learning process in which I am always trying to expand my range and perfect my technique. The focus of my work is concert photography, but I hope that you will also join me as I occasionally post about Portraits, High Dynamic Range (HDR), Urban, and other genres.
